Vajra & Rain in Bangalore

Waiting for a bus , we decided to take "Vajra" , which is an AC bus with half the number of seats in a normal MTC bus. Travelling in a Vajra is an experience in itself. After the relative heat of the day , when you enter the bus , The silence coupled with the AC is refreshing to say the least. AS we were moving towards Brigade Road it started raining cats and dogs. It was like a mini-waterfall outside the windows. Having not seen/heard of rain in Chennai for ages , we decided to get wet and have some fun.

After leaving the bus , it took about 10 seconds to get soaked to the bone. Then we had a brainwave to take an auto as it would be quick. After entering the auto we found out that this particular one didn't have the plastic covers to keep out the rain. The B'lore rain unlike the Chennai rain is cold . Also, due to the speeding auto there was a nice cool breeze that on any other day would have been pleasant. The breeze with the rain made for a very very cold auto ride. The two of us were reduced to chattering parrots for the duration of the ride at the mercy of the wind and the rain. On the whole it was quite a cool experience and made me realize , I have to get my raincoat to b'lore during the summer :P

The Intern Act 1

15 of us got of the Bangalore Mail at Cantt around 5 am . We managed to fit 25 pieces of baggage and 15 of us into two cars ( an indica and an alto ! ) . One of which was provided by a friend's uncle. After half an hour of searching in the darkness over roads that define the words "kuchha and rocky" we finally reach Nest Inn , our hopeful place of stay for the next one and a half months. The house looked nice on the outside and gave some hope to us. On taking our 1st steps inside , all hopes were dispelled. The windows were full of dust , the corners full of cobwebs , no water , every bathroom door having a hole big enough to fit a 14" TV ( At least you wouldn't get bored inside or outside ) , no electricity and the fear of 15 of us having to fit in 2 rooms.

After the lodging , we decided to enquire about the "mess" they were supposed to have. The mess-cum-kitchen turned out to be a makeshift garage-cum-driveway. The cots that we were supposed to have as beds turned out to be the tables we were going to be using for our meals. Luckily for me , my friend's uncle who had dropped us didn't like the "Inn" any better than us and decided to invite his nephew and a friend who was hanging with him near the luggage ( me :D ) to stay at his place. It didn't take long before we were on our way back to civilization and 2 comfortable beds and a private bathroom.
